About Me:
First I am a Transsexual Woman. I have known as early as I can remember that "it" was not and did not define who and what I was. My journey was one of abuse, suffering and pain which started as a very young child. It continued because I gave into the demands of others out of shame and fear and began pretending to be what I never was and never wanted to be. While my male body matured the true female one that lived inside that shell of deception I had created also matured. I struggled to survive in my lonely closeted world. This struggle was slowly killing me both physically and mentally. Finally my whole deceptive world collapsed. Too many medications to count, too many hospitalizations and fourteen suicide attempts because I saw that as my only escape, I found myself alone. I lost everything, family, home, job but mostly, myself. Alone ready once again to end it, I sat and went over my life. I saw, my three children, while I made a poor father I have been told, they were successful adults and seemed happy except with me. I saw my accomplishments, my education which had helped give me a life while not wealthy was comfortable. I saw the beautiful places I been and the things I’d seen. I also remembered the suffering and pain of verbal, physical, mental and sexual abuse all because of who and what I truly was yet seen and defined as something I wasn’t. I saw my happiest moments were when I was real, out openly and freely as the girl as a child and the woman as an adult. I then discovered the reason for my depression; I was living a lie. All my therapy had been based on putting Mike back together when it was Michelle who was struggling to live. I wanted to live but did not know how because I had given in. I knew then the answer, I finally accepted who and what I had always been. From that moment on I have never gone back into that shell of deception. I live openly and freely as the woman I was born as. I am at last free and happy.

In December of this year an Angel, my Surgeon, will not create the woman I have dreamed of being, I am that woman, and I always have been since a very young child. What Marci will do by her wonderfully skilled hands is at last give me a body that this woman can at long last live comfortably within. That day a new journey does not begin, the journey of this woman’s life only continues. I will not be a new and different person, a woman who now needs to find who she and what she wants to accomplish, no I have always been that woman.

Now special and dear words to the person who shares my life as I share hers. Cameron Alison you have brought into my life complete love without conditions or demands. Just caring and devotion for one another, We have a beautiful life and love together and so much more is to come. I LOVE YOU CAMERON ALISON and I tell this to you and the world I do.

"Transgender people and Allies: working together we can improve the lives of Trans people in Virginia.

Mission statement: The Coalition for Transgender Rights in Virginia works to assure that transsexual, transgender, intersex, gender minority and gender variant people are welcomed valued and affirmed.

Vision statement: The Coalition for Transgender Rights in Virginia envisions a Commonwealth in which all gender identities and expressions are fully appreciated and celebrated, and in which gender determination is left to the individual.

Who we are: TransRights Virginia is a group of trans and intersex people and our allies, united in our desire for fairness and equality.

What we do: We work for full inclusion of trans and intersex people at all levels within society. We also advocate for culturally competent care among all service providers, including (but not limited to): law enforcement agencies and officials; medical professionals; social workers; educators; domestic and sexual violence case workers.

How we accomplish what we do: TransRights Virginia actively lobbies elected officials on the local, state and federal levels, seeking such basic protections as: hate crimes legislation; non-discrimination laws; safe schools legislation, etc.
We partner with like-minded groups to enhance one another's effectiveness.

Virginia Transgender Coalition was founded in July 2007 by Cami and myself in hopes of bringing to Virginia what we had learned and seen working with the Washington DC Trans Coalition in their bringing about what is considered one of the best Transgender anti=discrimination laws in the Nation.

Your life is yours, you own it, and what you make of it is purely up to you.

Others may support you in your aspirations, but, in the end it’s your creation. You have the responsibility.

Once you have accepted this responsibility and stopped waiting around for others to make you happy, you will be unstoppable. There will be no denying you. Your life will change, all because of you.
So turn on the green light and go.

When you find happiness within yourself, you are an authentic person. You know who you are, without reference to the expectations of peers or society.

To live an authentic life, you must free yourself from the superficial values. You must think for yourself, decide what is right for you and get in touch with your own thoughts, needs and desirer’s. Lastly, you must embrace your own values and live what you believe to be true. Then, and only then, are you authentic. Then, and only then, can you live up to your true potential.

Wonderful News

Friday, July 13th 2008 I received the most wonderful news today. I can remember as a young child I was told if I prayed long enough and in earnest, my prayers would be answered. I had hoped and prayed that each morning when I woke that that "thing" that made everyone insi… Continue

Michelle-Marie

Welcome to my little piece of this Planet!

For once, a gal who can probably out-write me! (I get so tired of one-liners from folks who ain't about nothin"!)

Looks like you're already set up when it comes to love and romance - so I need not go there. Besides - I'm way out in Colorado!

But I was born and raised in West Virginia...

Go on, girl - I like your resolve to not hide nothin' for NOBODY!

I'm the same way - what you see is definitely what you get with me!

I better go now - I've got a long day ahead and must do my Activist Assignments...

Take care!
